The Light and Darkness War by Cam Kennedy

In 1987 Cam Kennedy and writer Tom Vietch created the comic book series ' The Light and Darkness War ' for Epic comics. A six issue run saw the story of Vietnam veteran Lazarus Jones and his battle to come to terms with the death of his comrades and his own paralysis. Strange things start happening to Lazarus, and we soon see him in an alternate universe, which is where the fallen from history's numberless wars pass over to when they die in battle.

Cam pencilled, inked and hand painted the entire set of books. The art in this series is incredible. Cam manages to visualize an entire new world for the reader to explore, and his wonderful palette of colours masterfully reflects the unfolding story.
