Cam Kennedy - A life in Art

Cam Kennedy is a native of Glasgow, Scotland. His early years were spent in various commercial art studios in Glasgow and London. In 1967 Cam went freelance and started working on Commando comics published by D.C.Thomson. He worked on Commando titles until 1972 then stopped to go off to live in France. In France Cam turned his hand to fine art, and survived creating oil paintings, drawings and pastels.

Comic Book art calls again...

In 1978 Cam returned to his native Scotland and once again plunged into the world of comic strip. After a stint on Fighting Mann for Battle and Battle Action of Fleetway London, he was invited to move on to 2000AD featuring Judge Dredd. From then on Cam produced art for various titles including The VC's and Rogue Trooper , not forgetting the various and many Future Shocks and pin ups.

Star Wars & Boba Fett

Cam has also been associated with all the major American publishers. 1987 saw Cam debut his US appearance by pencilling the twelve issue series 'Outcasts' for DC comics. 1988 found Cam working with Tom Veitch on their creator owned series 'The Light and Darkness War'. A few years later Cam again found himself working with Tom Veitch on the artwork for the hugely popular Dark Horse series 'Dark Empire one & Dark Empire two'. Since then Cam has created art work for many American titles including 'Boba Fett', 'Lobo' and 'Punisher'.

Recently Cam finished work on the Punisher story 'Streets of Laredo' with Garth Ennis and after a short break is starting the artwork for a Judge Dredd Christmas story with his old pal and fellow Scot, John Wagner.
